Andrea Schöll | Internship property management | Spring 2021
“I didn’t have to think twice about which company to send my application for an excellent internship!”
As part of my Bachelor’s studies with a specialization in Real Estate Management at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, I have to complete a mandatory internship in the 6th semester in order to gain an insight into everyday working life. After an extremely positive recommendation from a friend, I didn’t have to think twice about which company I would send my application for an excellent internship in order to successfully complete my studies.
After sending my application and the subsequent invitation to an interview, I was fortunately accepted for an internship in real estate management.
On my first day of work, I was welcomed in a very friendly and introduced to all of my colleagues in the condominium management section. In the first weeks, there was extensive training courses in the programs and work processes.
Due to regular internal training courses and the competent support of the head of department and my colleagues, I was able to quickly gain an overview and was able to complete the work assignments assigned to me independently. I particularly liked the fact that I was seen as a full-fledged employee and that I was able to take on responsibility due to the comprehensive field of activities.
Finally, I would like to mention positively that the five-month internship allowed me to develop my professional and personal development very much.
Michael Wöss | Internship as administrative assistant | RUSTLER – The Property Managers
“My days at work were varied and exciting!“
Period: Spring 2015
I am studying “Business consulting” at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences. Since the last semester of the Bachelor studies includes required practical experience and since I specialise in “Real Estate Management”, the “Frieda Rustler Gebäudeverwaltung GmbH & Co KG“ company appeared the perfect choice.
My career started in the summer of 2014 already, with Rustler Building Management. Back then I did a summer practical training in the same department in which I performed my mandatory practical. I had thus already been introduced to my colleagues and they all extended a hearty welcome and fully integrated me in the team as I started my training in the required programs.
My start into mandatory practical training was therefore much less stressful. I was warmly welcomed back on my first working day and was able to start on my work right away. Trainees in this company have the significant advantage that they will not be asked to the typical apprentice chores such as getting coffee, scanning or copying, but they are treated as equal colleagues and “normal” administrative assistants.
I had been placed in the “Condominium administration” department. My team comprised two managers, two assistants and myself. Communication within our team was always pleasant and informative. I had the opportunity at any time to ask questions which would arise on certain topics.
My main task was to support the managers. Just like the other management assistants, I could respond to telephonic enquiries by owners, issue job orders, handle submission of insurance issues, do inspections on site and participate in home owner meetings.
I therefore had very diversified and exciting working days.
Last but not least, allow me to emphasize that I was fortunate to gain a wealth of knowledge during my six months of internship with Rustler Building Management. I was able to put my theoretical know-how into practice and to develop and intensify my knowledge and personal skills. I will never regret having chosen to plunge into the real estate industry in this way.

“I was fortunate to gain abundant and valuable experience working with my colleagues!“
Period: Spring 2015
In the course of my “Business consulting” studies at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences, we are required to complete an internship of at least 15 weeks. Since I specialised in the fields of Real Estate Management and Business Finance after the second semester, I needed an internship and came across the Rustler Immobilientreuhand GmbH company at the Wiener Neustadt Jobs trade fair.
I was immediately convinced that I will perform my internship with this renowned company in order to acquire valuable experience.
I gained my first impressions in the course of my application process in mid-June during two open days where I got to know the team and their responsibilities.
My practical training started early in January 2015, when I was right away welcomed back. I was assigned my own field of responsibility after only a brief introductory phase. My primary task was to support the real estate agents in the fields of trade, property and leasing. My responsibilities increased during my period of training as I handled my own objects, made own inspections and attended completions and key hand-overs. My ongoing administrative and organisational activities allowed me to put the theory I had learned into practice.
In closing, I would like to emphasize that I was fortunate to acquire a wealth of practical experience working with my colleagues and that the internship was far from simply “run of the mill”.
